postpozityvizmas statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Metateorinis požiūris, atmetantis kertines pozityvizmo prielaidas, kad galima galutinai ir objektyviai nustatyti teiginių teisingumą, ir teigiantis, kad pozityvistinis objektyvaus pažinimo idealas neįmanomas. Teigia, kad tikrovę formuoja teorijos, todėl nėra tokio dalyko kaip objektyvi tikrovė. Dažniausiai siejamas su viena būdingiausių formų – kritiniu realizmu, kritiškai vertinančiu galimybes žinoti neabejojant. Stebėjimas yra persmelktas teorijos (angl. theory-laden), mokslininką veikia ne tik mokslinės teorijos, bet ir jo kultūrinė patirtis ir pan. Todėl objektyvumas yra socialinis reiškinys, įmanomas tik kritiškai vertinant skirtingus įvairius tyrėjų požiūrius. Šiandien socialiniuose moksluose plačiai įsigalėjusi metodologinė nuostata. Postpozityvizmą esmingai paveikė postmodernistinės idėjos, skelbiančios subjekto išnykimą, atmetančios esencialistinį požiūrį į pasaulį.
